Blomberg’s research is focused upon identifying ways to more effectively link research knowledge to public policy. This includes examining the relationship between educational achievement among incarcerated youthful offenders and successful community reintegration.

Prior to joining the faculty in the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University in August of 2003, Bill Bales was the director of research with the Florida Department of Corrections since 1991 and has worked in various research capacities with the Florida Supreme Court

George Pesta is the Director of the Center for Criminology and Public Policy Research. At the Center, he manages funded research projects, supervises GRAs and collaborates with faculty on project deliverables, research reports, and presentations.

Brian Stephens is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo Security Risk Advisory. He supports Fortune 500 clients with design and delivery of enterprise security strategy programs, including emergency preparedness and response and crisis communications. 

Darrel Stephens consults on a wide range of police leadership and management issues. He served as the Executive Director of the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) from October 2010 to October 2017. He is an accomplished police executive with over 50 years of experience in policing.

Nic Swagar’s research interests include police-suspect encounters, suspect resistance and police use of force, neighborhoods and crime, and youth homelessness and crime. He is also an advocate of developing researcher-policymaker partnerships to effectuate public safety.

Dr. Vickers, whose background includes a law degree and a Ph.D. in economic and business history, served for four years as Assistant Comptroller of Florida, the Chief of Staff of the Florida Department of Banking and Finance.
